How it works

Four steps and the entry is in your journal.

  1. 1 / 4

    Tap and talk

Talk the way you like, pauses included. The text appears right away and the audio stays on your phone.

  2. 2 / 4

    Name what you feel

Vidlun asks you first. Pick emotions from the emotion vocabulary, or tap “I don’t know”.

The card asking for an emotion, with the vocabulary open
  3. 3 / 4

    See what Vidlun heard

Then Vidlun shows its version: emotions, a mood from 1 to 5 and one short sentence. It describes what was said and gives no advice or grades.

An entry card: audio, mood, emotions and the echo
  4. 4 / 4

Entries add up to a picture

A journal with search, mood by day, marked events. Over a week you see what kept coming back and what changed.

The week: mood by day and events

What Vidlun does

  • Audio never leaves your phone

A recording is kept on the device for thirteen months, then deleted. The text stays for good.

  • A vocabulary of 125 emotions

From “joy” to “the good kind of tired”. Words, not emoji, so you can name your states more precisely.

  • Week and events

Mood by day, and events that mark what came before and after: a move, a new job.

Privacy

No account, no sign-up, no analytics. Audio stays on your phone. Only the text of an entry goes to the server, to name the emotion, and never your name.

FAQ

Do I need internet?

Not for recording and recognition. To have Vidlun name the emotion, yes. Without it the entry is saved with your word and the answer comes later.

Is this therapy?

No. Vidlun is a journal. It describes what was said and gives no advice, grades or medical conclusions.

Where are my entries?

On your phone. A backup is a file you keep yourself. Audio is not part of it.

Is there an Android version?

iPhone only for now.
